Baths are a quintessential part of self care. When most people hear the words ‘self care’, they think of being in a bath tub with lots of bubbles, surrounded by candles. And there is good reason – baths are great for mental and physical health with lots of stress-reducing benefits.

In this post, I’ll be sharing my tips for creating the most healing bath, in order for you to unlock your full goddess potential.

Bath Bombs

Bath bombs are a fun way to decorate your bath, adding colour, fragrance and sometimes glitter. Pick out one that is your favourite colour or has a scent you really like. My favourites are these bath bombs from Bomb Cosmetics.

Bath Salts

I found out last year that almost everyone is deficient in magnesium, and this can cause a LOT of symptoms and issues that often go unexplained, including anxiety. This year, I’ve massively upped my magnesium intake by using magnesium and epsom salts in my bath a couple of times a week. This is my favourite way to take magnesium as it’s relaxing, fast absorbing and it makes your skin really soft! My favourite salt to use is this one, and I use about 500g in a big tub of water.

Essential Oils

I love adding a few drops of essential oil to my bath. Lavender is my all time favourite essential oil, as it’s best known to help reduce stress and anxiety and balance the nervous system, so it’s great if you have trouble sleeping. Other great essential oils to put in your bath are rose, clary sage and eucalyptus (this is good if you’re suffering with a cold!) Try this essential oils starter pack to find out your favourites.

Flower Petals

If you want to have a true goddess bath, flower petals are a must. Not only do they make the bath look pretty, but you’ll truly feel transported to an exotic land. What flowers you choose is up to you, but my favourite to use are rose petals as they smell to-die-for, and they’re great for practicing some self love. Try these natural rose petals next time you have a goddess bath.

Candles

Burning candles while you take a bath is essential for feeling transported to a goddess haven. Have a couple dotted around your bath for lighting and ambience, as well as for a relaxing scent. My favourite candles to burn are lavender and rose scented, and I LOVE this lavender one. Try a mixture of candles, votives and tealights for full effect.

Palo Santo

Burning palo sank before your bath helps to purify the air, create a comforting woody scent and sets the mood for a healing, goddess bath. You can buy palo santo from specialist herb stores, but also you can buy it online – this one is particularly good.

Crystals

If you’re a fan of crystals, or just starting out your collection, surrounding your bath with crystals can be a comforting addition to your goddess bath. You can draw off their energy or simply enjoy looking at them while you take your bath.

Music

Picking the right audio accompaniment to your goddess bath is essential. Don’t go for anything that’s too stimulating, and instead, opt for calming meditation playlists, nature sounds or even a guided meditation.

There are my top picks to have a comforting, healing goddess bath. I hope you enjoyed!

Lots of love,

Natalie
